I live in the SW of England with my husband of 18 years and my three children.
I do freelance work for The Scrapbook Magazine, Design Objectives (Creativity Magazine, Create and Craft TV and DoCrafts Website) and Creative Cardmaking. I have also had articles published in the Australian Scrapbook Magazine.
I obviously love scrapbooking. I have always loved being creative whether it be with pen and paper or on the computer using graphics programs. That is why I do a bit of digi scrapping now and then as well as all the paper and glue stuff - I love it all!!! I like making cards as well, mostly because I can't resist all those gorgeous stamps in the shops and I love colouring with alcohol markers.
I also love stitching - not just cross stitch but I also love using charts which combine cross stitch with other speciality stitches and hardanger. I learned to knit when I was 7 and was designing and knitting fair isle jumpers for my dolls when I was 8, I have a (very faint) scar on my palm where I tried to secretly use my Mum's Wilkinson Sword dressmaking scissors to cut my wool and accidently cut a 'V' shape in the fleshy part of my hand! I taught myself to crochet last year using You Tube videos and I love that too! Needless to say, I love craft and would probably have a go at anything crafty if I had the opportunity to try.
I have always had a passion for reading and I admit to being quite boring and loving to read books like 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves' that talk about the correct use of English! I do not profess to be an authority on it though - far from it, I am using typing in such a rush that I get it all wrong. I did enjoy English Literature at school. I adore Pride and Prejudice as much as I love reading chick lit. Basically, I read whatever I can get my hands on.
I have recently started sewing after getting a lovely new sewing machine (Bernina Bernette 90e) and you may find that I post my attempts on my blog, beware though I am a beginner!
We love food in our house! I think every member of our family just loves to eat - it is amazing that we are not all seriously overweight (just a little bit :) ) We especially love spicy foods like curry and chilli, my favourite food is Thai Green Curry and the Jamie Oliver recipe in 'Ministry of Food' is very easy to make and tastes delicious. I also love cheese, crisps and Cheesy, Hammy, Eggy! Aquiring a new Kenwood mixer this year has meant that I am also loving to bake cakes.
I hope you enjoy my blog!
