I felt like getting messy today in the ink and mod podge kind of way and as I haven't posted a video for a while here is one showing how this little canvas came to be. It is just 5" x 7".
I have totally ruined my nails doing this today! Yesterday they looked like this:
Now they look like I have dipped them in Mod Podge and put them in a pot of feathers and paint! That's a job for this evening.
Here are some close ups of the little canvas.
It was worth ruining my nails because now I have this cute little picture to put on my wall. I think I will put it in the vestibule (sounds posh but is really just a pokey little hallway!). I really enjoyed doing this today, I have been spending a lot of time knitting and crocheting lately so it was a nice change. I have finally made a couple of pairs of socks which I will share soon!
Here is the video - enjoy :)
I really love this Sarah - I can't wait for my new craft room to be ready so I can give it a try :) xx

This is great Sarah! I have a square canvas that I bought from Dunelm Mills at Christmas, and I didn't know what to do with it!

I have never attempted mixed media, but may give it a shot. How do you decide what you are going to use for the background, the design, the type of elements, etc? Do you only use canvas or do you do paper? Also, what is the music playing because it is cool!

Thanks Craftimax, I don't really 'decide' as such, I grab a box of things and just randomly pick things depending on what I feel like at the time. It always turns out well, I think the main this is not to over think what you are doing :) I have done some mixed media on paper in a journal but I prefer the canvas. The music is called Happy Happy Joy Joy and I bought it from a stock music place a while ago to use on my videos :)
