Last year was definitely a year of crochet for me as far as my crafting pursuits are concerned. I barely did anything but crochet! I did start a nice knitted cardigan at the end of the year, which is still on the needles (and I will share that soon), but mostly I was crocheting blankets and boy did I crochet a lot of blankets. I don't know how many so I am going to list them here so that I can take count!
- Coastal ripple blanket
- Yellow / grey / white ripple for Ruben
- Harmony blanket
- Cosy Stripe blanket
- Hearts and Rainbows blanket for Amber
- Call the Midwife blanket for Ruben
- Cottage Ripple blanket
- Harmony blanket in my own colour choices
Oh my goodness! I made EIGHT blankets last year, that is craaazy! I knew it was a few but I didn't think it was that many. I also started a Christmas blanket using a Holly Square that I made up myself but it wasn't done in time for Christmas so I am going to work on that bit by bit for next year. Definitely no rush.
On top of that I also started an Elmer Squares blanket using leftovers and I think I have about 80 squares done on that one too! I based my Elmer squares on the pattern over at Little Tin Bird although I did make a couple of small changes.
Here is a picture of some of the blankets, although the top one is Flowers in the Snow and that was shared in February 2012, when I crocheted it.
I think I will share one of these blankets each week. I know if you follow me on Instagram you will have seen them all before but it will be nice to record them on my blog too :)
If you are a fan of Attic 24 then you will notice that 75% of the blankets I made are from her patterns. This was a conscious choice, I really wanted to work on projects that required very little brain power where choosing colours etc was concerned and Lucy at Attic 24 is great at producing patterns where all the preparation work has been done for you. Having said that my favourite make of the year was the Harmony blanket that I crocheted in my own colour palette so I will share that one first. Tomorrow :)
